Hey guys – we talked about the Holiday Card/Application contest at the first meeting so here is the official post and call for entries. The contest consists of you submitting to us (Ben or Wayne) a url or files that you personally had a hand in creating and that are related to the Holiday season.

If you are creating a holiday card/application for your place of employment and want to use that – it is fair game. The only stipulations are:

A) You had to have worked on it yourself.
B) It uses Flash

That leaves the whole thing wide open – amaze us – make us laugh – dazzle us with your programming skill – animate your hands off.

Entry deadline is December 12th.

Depending on how many entries we get we may create multiple prizes or categories. Prize(s) will be determined at a later date like we talked about. We will vote on entries at the next meeting. Good luck!

Ben,

My name is Mona Wehbe. I graduated last winter and working full time.
I used flash a bit as an undergrad and now i seem to be learning and using it more…

Right now, I am working on a flash holiday e-card in Flash MX. I was hoping you or anyone could help me with a trouble shooting issue.

ok..I imported the mp3 song to my library, and I dragged it to the time line so that it plays with the ecard. THe only problem I have is that I dont know how to get the music to stop/pause with the rest of the presentation. Even if I pause the timeline when I am testing it, the music keeps playing.

I really just want to be able to start/stop the music as the timeline goes along. So if I hit enter on the keyboard, and my timeline pauses, I want the music to pause and when my timeline resumes, the music resumes but doesnt start the song all over.

Thank you all for all the help…

please email me if you have any direction at mona.wehbe@arvinmeritor.com
