**Update**
As per request here are Flash MX 2004 (7) versions of the XPath FLAs.

It was a good meeting. As promised Wayne’s and My Flash FLAs are attached from our respective demos. We have some new ideas that we are interested in implementing for the group – more on that later. We hope to have this month’s podcast up soon for all of you that subscribe. I thought I’d also post the links we talked about during “freestyle” at the meeting. Thanks again UG members!

PittMFug Flash Festival?

I went surfing around after yesterdays meeting to see what other user groups are doing and came across the flash in a can festival that some of you guys were talking about. Come to find out, that is just a festival that a user group from Toronto has put on. Hummmmmm… Interesting… We’re a user group… We’re in Toronto… I mean Pittsburgh…

They’ve only been around sine 01 and it seems like thier event has been gaining recognition every year. Wouldn’t it be cool to have a MFUGGER”S Festival? I don’t know what it would take to put on something like this, but I thought I would toss it out there to see what the rest of the group thinks about the idea.

January 2006 Meeting Update

The meeting is 1 week away! Hopefully everyone has the 3rd Thursday already marked in their calendars every month.

This week I’ll be giving a tutorial on using the Drawing API. This should give those of you who haven’t played with it a good idea of some of it’s features. Drawing with code is just cool. As Ben mentioned in the previous post, he’ll be presenting an XPath demo.

On a sad note, it doesn’t look like I will have the animated version of the December podcast in time for the meeting. I apologize to those folks who enjoyed the previous animated version. Again, get the December audio podcast feed here (http://www.pittmfug.com/podcast/podcast.xml) or subscribe via iTunes here.

Remember, we’re always looking for sponsors and presenters for meetings. Please contact me (wlincoln at gmail dot com) with ideas or opportunities.

See you next Thursday!

January 2006 Meeting

Well it will be the first meeting of the new year! I am working on an XPath Presentation/Demo for all of you and Wayne is working on something special as well.

We will be meeting at the same place as always, New Perspective. January 19th (Third Thursday) 6:00PM rain, shine, snow or ice. If you think you will be attending this meeting can you please shoot us an email (ben at gmail.com or wlincoln at gmail.com). We just would like to have a count of the number of people attending.

It is not to late to be a presenter. If you have something you’d like to show or demo let us know. We probably will try to format the meeting a little differently this time so that there is less presentation and more discussion so please come ready to share anything Flash. Hope to see you all then!
